Policeman goes berserk, shoots 2 colleagues in Adamawa

A policeman at the Michika divisional headquarters in
Adamawa State was, on Tuesday, shot dead after
shooting two of his colleagues who are now receiving
treatment in the hospital, police spokesman,
Muhammed Ibrahim, said.
An eyewitness had told the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) in Michika that the incident occurred around
7.00 a.m on Tuesday, when the policeman, identified
as Abba Gana, opened fire on his colleagues.
Confirming the incident to NAN, Ibrahim said an
inspector and a constable were shot in the incident.
He said the policeman, who resisted arrest, had been
shot dead, with the assistance of men of the
Adamawa special anti- robbery patrol, "Operation
Tsaro."
Ibrahim also confirmed the attack by suspected
gunmen on Mugulvu police outpost in Mubi South
Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
He said the men, who attacked the outpost with
explosives, were repelled by the police, who
succeeded in killing one of them.
NAN recalled that four months ago, a policeman at
the police divisional headquarters in Gombi Local
Government Area of the state also went berserk,
shooting three of his colleagues to death before
killing himself.
