Group kicks against NLC’s proposed strike|

A socio-political group in the Northern part of the country, the Northern Union (NU) youth wing has kicked against the proposed strike action of the NLC, describing it as a sabotage.
In a statement issued in Ilorin, on Tuesday by the union and signed by its national coordinator, Mr Kolo Jerry and its publicity secretary, Mr Muhammed Kotun, the body described any strike at this moment being out of selfish interest, "because it will not enjoy public support and
sympathy."
The union asked the NLC members where they were when the tariff of electricity supply was increased, saying, the NLC was now threatening the Federal Government that it would embark on strike over the delay in the payment of entitlements of PHCN workers in the country.
According to the statement, 'NLC and its allies must know electricity power is an essential service that runs economy for thebenefit of the masses, as it largely does not affect the government and elite, who still use generators to get power supply at the cost of the scarce resources."
The union said that, "we advise the NLC to feel the pulse of Nigerians on the PHCN, and they would be shocked about their responses on this matter not from the union's point of view, but the public's."
