Nigeria spent N190bn on currency managment - CBN|

THE Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has used the sum of N190 billion in the last fiscal year for currency management, as a resultof poor handling of the naira by Nigerians.
Deputy Director of Currency, CBN, T. D. Daki, said this in Lafia, Nasa-rawa State capital, on Tuesday, at a conference on creating awareness on the Nigeria national symbols, organised by the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
The Director-General of NOA, Mr Mike Omeri, speaking on the reason for the conference, stressed the need for giving deserved respect to our national symbols, adding that "they represent our collective history and combined aspiration."
Omeri, at a visit to the state deputy governor, Mr Dameshi Barau Luka, said "NOA has commenced a nationwide campaign to sensitise Nigerians on the importance of national symbols of the country, including the national flag, national anthem, national pledge, the coat of arms and the
naira."
The deputy governor, who represented Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, expressed confidence that the campaign would returnNigeria to the days when "citizens took pride in identifying with their nation wherever they are on the globe, by proudly displaying the national colours and other national symbols."
