Man, 20, arraigned for stabbing
An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court has remanded 20-year-old Ahmed Raji in prison custody for unlawful assault.
The accused, on July 8, 2012, at Sea Side Hotel, Isheri, Lagos, allegedly stabbed one Adeleke Yusuf on his head and cheek with a broken bottle.
The accused pleaded guilty while Magistrate Taiwo Akanni adjourned the case till July 30.
Similarly, 42-year-old Remmy Asidike has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for obtaining money under false pretence, thereby committing felony.
The accused and another suspect at large, on Sept. 17, 2008, at about 12 pm, allegedly conspired to obtain N918,000 under the pretext that they were going to supply one Vincent Nwerem with 153,000 cartons of Brandex cables, which they didn’t.
The accused, who was arraigned before Magistrate Akanni, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against her.
She was subsequently granted bail and the case was adjourned till Aug. 28.
