Bomb reportedly defused by police in anIkeja hotel

There are unconfirmed reports that a bomb was
discovered yesterday in a room at Reliance Hotel
located on Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja,
Lagos. The hotel shares the same fence with St. Leo
Catholic Church and is directly opposite
Assemblies of God Church.
There is no information on any arrests at the time
of filing this report.
According to hotel sources, three men slept in the
hotel day before and checked out yesterday. The
package which was later discovered to be a bomb,
was found when the hotel housekeeper went in to
clean the room.
The hotel promptly alerted the anti-bomb squad
who cordoned off the area for hours working
feverishly to defuse the bomb.
After it was defused, the bomb was reportedly
brought out of the hotel before being taken away in
a blue vehicle.
We are awaiting some form of confirmation from
police authorities on this incident.
There was a similar claim a few months ago about
a bomb being defused by around Ikeja Under-
bridge, a claim which was later denied.
