Tinapa gets N1bn International ConferenceCentre

THE management of Tinapa Business and Leisure
Resort has built an International Conference Centre
with a sitting capacity of 600 and modern
communication facilities that could host
international organisations or any event of
international standard.
Managing Director of Tinapa, Chief Bassey Ndem,
who disclosed this when the executive members of
the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of
Journalists, Cross River State Council paid him a
courtesy visit in his office, said that it took over N1
billion to put in place the befitting edifice that
could host any international events.
Chief Ndem noted that Tinapa had hosted many
events which included the World Tourism
Organization conference at the Lake Tinapa hotel,
adding that the new conference centre which is
fully air conditioned has banquet chairs and
exhibition hall.
The MD said that there was an air of confidence at
the resort and that within January and March this
year about 173 containers entered into Tinapa and
that many more investors had indicated interest in
doing business in the resort.
He said that the Governor Liyel Imoke's led
administration had been supportive and had done
much to ensure that there was boom in economic
activities.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of Correspondents
Chapel, Mr. Bassey Inyang, said that the executive
members of the chapel decided to visit the resort
to know the level of economic activities going on,
some of the challenges if any and the way the
chapel and management of Tinapa could work
together to promote the multi-billion naira outfit.
Other executive members of the chapel include
Increase Abasi-Ubong (Vice Chairman), Johnbosco
Agbakwuru (Secretary), Mike Abang (Treasurer)
and Sunday Bassey (Internal Auditor).
