Big-Budget Romance Video Finally Premieres

Superstar R&B singer/ songwriter Darey Art Alade has released the video for his newest international single “Special Fever”.

The beach themed video, which features Nollywood star actress Rita Dominic as the leading lady, was shot at a private beach in Lagos and was choreographed by Dance Queen Kaffy.

“Special Fever”, which was released last year, is a unique R&B/Highlife music, which describes the art of Love. The single, which was produced by internationally acclaimed producer, Harmony shows Darey pouring out his heart to a young woman who gives him a special kind of fever.

The video also boasts of exciting cameos from some of the industry’s finest like JJC, DJ Sose, Muna, Mo Eazy, Zaina, amongst others.

Sean Tizzle Signs Endorsement Deal Worth N20 Million With MTN

Telecomms giant MTN Nigeria has added Sean Tizzle to their roster of celebrity brand ambassadors…for a cool N20 Million according to NET.

An insider at Tizzle’s camp said:-

The deal is signed and sealed. They like Sean because he’s hot and believe they can make money with his music.

They also go on to say Tizzle’s management has been in talks with MTN for a while and his impressive run in the last 12 months with his mega hit Sho Lee informed their decison to bring him on board.

Over 200 bodies found dead as S’Korea president apologises over ferry disaster

South Korean President Park Geun-hye has apologised over the ferry disaster, in a statement to cabinet shown on national television.

Park said that the government had failed to prevent the disaster and bungled its emergency response.

Her apology comes amid ongoing work to retrieve bodies from the sunken hull.

The ferry sank with 476 people aboard – most of them high school students and teachers – off South Korea on 16 April. A total of 174 were rescued.

The remainder have been confirmed dead or missing presumed drowned.

Officials have retrieved almost 200 bodies and divers are continuing to search for those still unaccounted for.

“I don’t know how to apologise for the failure to prevent this accident, and for the insufficient first response,” Park said in the statement.

“I am sorry to the people and heavy-hearted that many precious lives were lost.”

Nigerian film-maker and Nollywood icon Amaka Igwe has shockingly passed on at 51.

The sad incident occurred in Enugu where she had gone, in company of her husband, for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap.

She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to a teaching hospital where doctors were on strike.

She was confirmed dead at a private clinic in Enugu.

Nigerian Army to Begin Mass Recruitment in May

To fight the war against terrorism in the ongoing battle the Nigerian army is engaged in with Boko Haram operatives, the Federal Government has granted the armed forces alongside other relevant security agencies the go-ahead to begin mass recruitment.

During the National Security Council meeting in Abuja on Thursday, those in attendance emphasised on the importance for the recruitment.

A top military source intimated that the President issued the order in March following a briefing from Lt. Gen Kenneth Minimah, the Chief of Army Staff, about the on-going operations of the army.

The source, refusing to be named on the basis that he had no instruction to divulge on the  matter,  told PUNCH Newspaper that the army did not commence on the recruitment straightaway because they needed to expand training facilities in different locations in the country.

It was also learnt that the army would commence the enrolment in May 2014.

According to the source, “We have in  the pipeline, the plan to recruit. We are holding it because we want to upgrade our facilities.

“The presidential  directive  to us to recruit was given  in March when the COAS briefed the President. But the  exercise would start next month (May)”

He added that  following the  Boko Haram and other security challenges, the enrollment would now hold twice a year, as against how it used to be held once a year.

T B Joshua Predicts Release Of Abducted School Girls

Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua proclaimed to his congregation on Sunday 27th April 2014 that the abducted schoolgirls in Borno State were on the verge of being released by ‘God’, adding that almost half had already escaped their kidnappers’ clutches.

Amid mounting public fury and an international outcry over the fate of 230 kidnapped Nigerian teenage girls - now missing for nearly two weeks – the controversial cleric declared, “They have to be released. That is the voice of God!”

He proceeded to describe a revelation he claimed God had shown him. “I saw a vision where some of these girls have escaped and they are trying to find their way from the forest to the town.”

He added that the remaining children under custody would also be released soon. “God has spoken – these children must be released,” Joshua authoritatively declared. “We can’t wait to see them.”

Activities at the headquarters of Italian oil giant AGIP were this morning (Monday) brought to a standstill as the workers of the company shut down the Headquarters of the company located at Maitama Abuja.

They alleged non payment of their salaries and other benefits by the management of the company. They said all attempt to make the management of the company to see reasons with them fell on deaf ears. They have vowed to completely shut down the activities of the company across Nigeria if their demands were not met. TERRIBLE: 17-year-old boy stabs sister for dating a man he doesn’t like

A teenager in Lagos is in trouble with the law after reports that he stabbed his sister in the Apapa area of the state and then fled the scene of the crime.

The 17-year-old boy, simply identified as Francis, is said to have told his older sister, Mary to stop dating a certain man named as Isiaka.

Mary however did not listen to her brother as he could not produce any evidence of what Isiaka had done wrong.

Francis was said to have confronted his sister again over the relationship when he discovered that she hadn’t broken it off.

Mary allegedly told her brother that she had no plans to end the relationship and that she was in fact planning to marry Isiaka.

This was the last straw for Francis who was then said to have punched his sister and then stabbed her with a broken bottle. The accused escaped and Mary was rushed to the hospital

Felicia Smith, 42 is said to have danced suggestively for the 15-year-old boy, in front of the entire class, as a birthday gift to him.

She has been charged with having an improper relationship with a student.

Sad News: Former Barcelona Manager Tito Vilanova dies at 45

Former Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova has passed on today after losing a long-drawn battle with throat cancer.

Vilanova was 45.

Vilanova was Barcelona’s manager for the 2011-2012 season, succeeding Pep Guardiola and guiding the Catalan side to the La Liga trophy.

He had resigned weeks prior to the start of the season, informing players that he couldn’t continue in the position.

Barcelona made the announcement via Twitter, saying “The FC Barcelona is in immense mourning. Tito Vilanova has died at the age of 45. May he rest in peace.”

Awww: Half Of A Yellow Sun not approved by Video Censors Board yet

The Nigeria Film and Video Censorship Board, (NFVCB), has refused to certify the widely publicized and internationally acclaimed film, Half of A Yellow Sun which premiered in Nigeria two weeks ago and was supposed to hit the movie cinemas this weekend.


According to reports, the film, an adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel of the same name, is being stopped from getting a public release because certain parts "tend to whip up tribal sentiments, especially on issues that led to the Nigerian civil war." There is also some nudity in the movie.

Biyi Bandele on Facebook, answered fans who had expressed concern about not seeing the movie billing at their favorite Nigerian cinemas. He said,

It's all true: The highly anticipated release of Half of a Yellow Sun in Nigeria has been postponed to 2nd May 2014, due to delays in obtaining certification from the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board for the public release of the film.

Nollywood Actor, Osita Iheme Publishes Inspirational Book

Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, has focused on writing, he contracted Africana First Publishers Plc to print and distribute copies of his new book called INSPIRE 101.

Pawpaw, who has recently received an endorsement from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), will become a nationwide author. His books will be delivered to different schools in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to form part of their library and research materials.

The book has passed checks by the Nigeria Educational Regulatory Commission (NERDC), Prof Pat Utomi, Mr Dimgba Igwe and top comedian Ali Baba.

Terrible: Naval Officer Shoots Tanker Driver To Death Over N500 in Apapa [PHOTOS]

A fierce riot occurred this morning in Apapa between tanker drivers and military personnel after the death of a tanker driver.

According to reports, a naval officer had shot a tanker driver identified as Lekan to death after Lekan and his boss refused to pay a bribe of N500 to the naval officer.

This led to the huge brawl with tires being burnt and roads being barricaded.
