[PHOTOS] Nigerian Soldiers Sets BRT Buses Ablaze on Ikorodu Road

Following the death of a colleague who was crushed to death this morning by an overzealous BRT driver while riding on his power bike, soldiers have taken over the entire stretch of Ikorodu road.

Aside impounding every BRT bus at sight, some fierce-looking officers have cordoned off some portion of Palmgrove express road where the accident occurred, saying they are cautiously awaiting the State governor to come and explain the action of his boys.

  4. As a soldier, they live as one. If you have ever been trained as a soldier, you will understand what it feels like to loose a brother to a reckless driver. More so, most of these BRT drivers are so reckless, the staffs generally. The drivers drive anyhow even if it means crushing another car. Why? 'Cause they believe they are government. Their conductors lacks human relationship and courtesy. Some of their senior staffs are trying most especially, the women among them but, overall performance, they are 80% equal to danfo drivers and conductors.

  5. Most of our comments are alarming to say the least.

What has the actions of one reckless driver got to do with unbridled rampage embarked upon by our soldiers?

Talking about respect. Our Armed Forces, especially the army, are the most respected (and feared) class of people in this country, what more can they ask for?

The average soldier is expected to have the discipline of a hundred civilians, by their training, hence it is unbecoming of them to always go on rampage against their fellow law-enforcement/paramilitary colleagues or the civilian populace, anytime there is an accident or incident.

  7. What is the law? Does BRT still have thier Lanes? if yes are the soldiers allowed now on BRT lanes.? But nevertheless if a soldier is on BRT lane that is not enough reason to run over him. i still beleiv there should be a system to deal with such cases. This is a country with Gross lawlessness.

  8. Comrades, lets avoid insulting any body in this forum but to be honest , tell me why a BRT bus should kill any body at all that walks on its lain.Well , it might be an accident which i know that can happen to any body. But we all know that antecedence to this , BRT bus officials : Drivers, ticketers, etc have always been an object of wickedness and nonchalant to both the customers and other road users. Thanks.
