The police on Friday arraigned three men, Kunle Adenuga,
53,Folorunsho Akanbi, 42 and Bamidele Michael, 40, before an Ibadan
Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Honda Accord car
valued at N800,000.
The Police prosecutor, Grace Akinsehinwa, said the accused conspired to steal the car with registration number AX 724 NRK.
Akinsehinwa said the car belonged to one Mrs Taiwo Ali of Iyana lodge Oke-Odo, Ibadan.
She said that the car was stolen on Feb.3 along Ganiyu Bello St.
Fele, Ibadan and that the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390 (9)
of the Criminal Code, Cap 38 Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Fatimoh Badrudeen, granted the accused bail in
the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
Badrudeen said one of the sureties must have a landed property within
Ibadan magisterial district with a Certificate of Occupancy.
She said the second surety must have two years tax clearance certificate and adjourned the case to Nov.11 for continuation.
