Latin American Idol Winner Martha Heredia Arrested For Smuggling Heroin



Latin American Idol winner Martha Heredia has been arrested after attempting to smuggle heroin onto an airplane bound for New York. Heredia was caught in the Dominican Republic with 2.9 pounds (1.3 kilograms) of heroin stuffed into her platform shoes which were inside of her suitcase.

 Prosecutor Luisa Liranzo said Heredia does not yet have an attorney. If found guilty, she could face more than 10 years in prison.
