Phyno, Sound Sultan, Gordons, Others thrill Enugu in #AmstelMaltaShowtime concert drama “The Rush”

Renowned and popular Nigerian entertainers, Phyno, Sound Sultan, Gordons, and a host of other entertainers brought down the roof of Golden Royale hall in the coal city yesterday with their super electrifying performances.

The stars featured in Amstel Malta Showtime concert drama directed by Ice Nweke tagged “The Rush”, which was a fusion of various artistic displays by ballerinas, jugglers, singers, actors, dancers, fire eaters, instrumentalists, comedians e.t.c put together to tell the story of a young man’s journey to success in an exceptional theatrical piece.

Peter and Paul Okoye popularly known as P-Square have just released a new music video and it is for their track Ejeajo featuring American Hip-Hop Star T.I.and Shekini. The video was filmed by Clarence Peters and directed by Jude Okoye.

D’banj was recently invited as a VIP Guest by the Vice President Marketing of BEATS by Dre (Jason White) to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).

He was one of the celebrities invited to the MTV Video Music Awards held in California, US on Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was as a matter of fact the only Nigerian singer/celebrity at the event. Dbanj is also a recipient of the prestigious MTV award winning it as far back as 2007.

Veteran Nollywood Actor, Segun Arinze and wife, Julie have been blessed with a baby girl. Julie was delivered of their third child yesterday, August 25, 2014, in an hospital in America.

Both mother and child are said to be doing great. Although, Segun has a daughter from his previous marriage, the newborn is the first girl in his present marriage. The couple already have 2 sons.

Ebola: FG Postpones Primary & Secondary Schools’ Resumption to October

Due to the current Ebola outbreak in the country, the Federal Government has ordered that all primary and secondary schools in the country should resume in October, instead of the usual September resumption.

The directive applies to both private and public institutions.

The schools’ resumption date was postponed to enable school officials undergo a two-week mandatory training conducted by health officials, on how to handle Ebola.

Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, made the announcement on Tuesday, Punch reports.

Schools are scheduled to re-open on Monday, 13th October.

Meet The Only Son of Ebola Victim Late Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh

His name is Bankole Cardoso, and according to City People, he is the only child of late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, the doctor who diagnosed Liberian/American, Patrick Sawyer, at First Consultant Hospital and subsequently died from the disease on Tuesday, 19 August.

He has a degree in Business Management and Accounting from the Boston College, and also studied at Rugby School, UK.

Bankole started his career with ‘Pricew...aterhouseCoopers’ in New York before going on to join ‘The Carlyle Group’ after which he returned to Nigeria following a 12-year stay abroad.

He is the co-founder and CEO of Easy Taxi, and earlier this year, Forbes listed him in their list of 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs.

Nigerian Doctors Suspend Strike After 65 days Because Of...

After 65 days, the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has suspended its strike. They made the announcement on their official twitter handle yesterday, and today, NMA president, Kayode Obembe, told journalists that the association decided to suspend the strike because of the Ebola outbreak.

He said all Nigerian doctors are expected to report to work tomorrow Monday August 25th.

2face Idibia's Father is Dead!

Pop icon 2face‘s father Michael Idibia has passed on in an Abuja hospital.

No official statement yet, but the musician’s associates confirm to Nigerian Entertainment Today he gave up the ghost today. He had been hospitalised for days. 2face is currently in Abuja where he has been all week.

19 yr old rapes chicken to death in Ondo, says a spirit directed him to do so

A 19 year old welder apprentice was caught yesterday August 19th after having sex with a chicken at the Continental area of Akure, the Ondo state capital.

According to reports by Vanguard, the boy was discovered to have committed the act after the owner of the chicken, Mrs Stella Akintola, who is the boy's neighbor and reared chickens in the compound, heard her chickens making noise inside their pen and decided to go and find out why they were restless. Nigerian Female Music Producer Rocks #StarTheWinnerIs

Yes you read right. 27-year-old Amen Oribhabor, Nigerian beat maker showed the true meaning of being multi-talented when she took to Star The Winner Is game show over the weekend with soulful performances.

With a particularly impressive performance of such a vocally complicated song as Try by pink, Amen thrived like a Rock star which made the audience and viewers go wild in excitement.

The 3^rd season of the all-new and redefined Amstel Malta Showtime, is ready to kick off its first leg of the event series in Enugu.

This season of Amstel Malta Showtime, a first of its kind concert drama, tagged “The Rush”, directed by celebrated art director, Ice Nweke, will feature 5 talents selected via auditions from each region and will hold in Enugu on the 29^th of August and in Lagos on the 18^th of September 2014.

The coal city will play host to thousands of talents who will have to impress the judges with an exceptional display of their unique abilities during the auditions in order to stand a chance of featuring alongside popular and renowned Nigerian entertainers: Sound Sultan, Phyno, Gordons, Ice Nweke and Ukalina.

The Enugu auditions will hold at Dannic Hotels, New Haven, Enugu on Monday, the 25^th of August and Tuesday, the 26^th of August 2014 with registration kicking off by 8am on both days.

The Auditions which are open to youths with outstanding talents such as musicians, actors, comedians, contortionists, puppeteers e.t.c will also hold in Lagos on the 14^th and 15^th of September at the Unilag Main Auditorium.
