Meet the Top Five Talents Featured in the Enugu Edition of #AmstelMaltaShowtime “The Rush”


The all new and redefined Amstel Malta Showtime 3, which kicked off its first edition on Friday the 29th of August at the Golden Royale Hall, Enugu with stunning display of arts and theatrics, was surely a great experience for the five young talents who made it through the auditions phase to feature alongside Sound Sultan, Phyno, Gordons, Ice Nweke and other entertainers.

According to the judges, the 5 talents exhibited remarkable confidence, unique style and dexterity amidst the numerous brilliant talents that showed up for the auditions.

The top five are:

Okafor Princess


Princess, a 300level Mass Communication Student of National Open University, Enugu, is an aspiring singer who recorded her first song, Dream Big, which she performed at the Enugu edition of Showtime, at the age of 18. As a voice-over artist, she has a number of jingles to her credit such as jingles for Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Star Times and a number of hotels in the east. 



Omobhude Ezekiel

A 22 year-old budding choreographer, who has worked closely with celebrated Nigerian artistes such as Phyno, Olamide, May D, Seyi Shay, Niyola and more. He is an undergraduate of National Open University (NOU) Lagos, who had a close shot at the top three positions in the 2nd season of Showtime, but eventually didn’t make it. According to him, he won't be in Lagos at the time for the Lagos show and didn't want to miss the opportunity again, so he decided to attend the Enugu audition to try his luck there...which eventually paid off.



Asomugha Chidubem

Deuz as he is fondly called, is a 32 year-old guitarist who works as a music producer and sound engineer. He has been on a number of reality shows and made it to the third position in the 2nd season of Amstel Malta Showtime. He aspires to do great music and own his record label someday soon.


Amigoz Theatre

This drama group of six undergraduates met at their jamb tutorial class two years ago. They have been going strong ever since, performing at various weddings and concerts in the east.


Torty Stephen

An 18year old harmonica player, who has been playing the harmonica since the age of 12. He was first inspired by the Kokomaster, Dbanj and hopes to do great exploit with his Harmonica.

In addition to the rare opportunity of featuring alongside the renowned entertainers, these five talents were mentored by the stars and also took home cash prizes.


Auditions for the Lagos edition of Showtime will hold on the 14th and 15th of September at the Unilag main auditorium to select 5 talents who will feature alongside Sound Sultan, Phyno, Gordons, Ice Nweke and other entertainers in “The Rush” on the 18th of September at the Unilag Sports centre.
