Gulder Ultimate Search Reveals Top 30 Contestants For 11th Edition #GUSTheMission

Nigeria’s biggest and most talked about reality TV show, Gulder Ultimate Search, have announced the top thirty contestants to go to Sea School.

The ‘triumphant thirty’ will go for further drills at Sea School in Apapa on the 27th of August 2014 to test their readiness for the highly entertaining brawn and brain show.

They overcame the physical hurdles, which came as a surprise to many who were expecting a test of stamina reminiscent of past editions. They swam against other able bodied contestants to surface victorious, and were able to support this show of skill and endurance with personality and intelligence at the interview stage.

Haaaaa! World Cup Trophy Damaged By Germany Player

The chief of Germany’s football association (DFB) has revealed that one of the team’s triumphant players has damaged their World Cup trophy.

Joachim Low’s men defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final after extra-time to win the fourth world title in their history, following on from 1954, 1974 and 1990 victories.

The Germany squad were welcomed home from Brazil to jubilant scenes and toured Berlin with the trophy during midweek – but may have celebrated a little bit too hard as their World Cup trophy has been damaged by an unknown member of the team.

“At one point, a small piece of our World Cup trophy was chipped off,” DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach is quoted by Die Welt as saying. “But do not worry! We have specialists on the case who can fix it.

“We have investigated persistently who it was that damaged the trophy, but the investigation was concluded without a result.”

Luckily for Germany, the cup they have been given by Fifa is just a replica of the World Cup trophy they were presented with at the Maracana on July 13, which is estimated to be worth over €10 million (£8m).

Fifa – it would seem wisely – tends not to trust football associations with the trophy after the original World Cup award, the Jules Rimet trophy, had a history of being a target for thieves before being stolen for good in 1983 from Brazil.

The upbeat event, which was held at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos, saw media treated to a luxurious breakfast as they mingled with the BET awards returnees as well as VIMN Africa’s Colette Otusheso, and many others.

 President Jonathan swore in four new ministers into the Federal Cabinet.

The new ministers are; former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau as new Minister of Education, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye as Minister of State for Works, Mr Stephen Oru as Minister of the Niger Delta and Mr Abdul Bulama as Minister of Science and Technology.

President Jonathan also announced the redeployment of current Minister of Works, Bashir Yuguda to become the Minister of State for Finance and substantive Minister of National Planning.

Nigerian Singer Cynthomania aka Ada Owerri Is Dead? Still in Shock!

Got the mail yesterday that Fast rising Nigerian singer Cynthia Akudo Jonah popularly known as Cynthomania or Ada Owerri who recently released a track titled Ajebutter, has passed on.

I met Cynthia in 2012 and we've been friends since then.

According to her management, Cynthia who was in her 20s was set to drop her first album. She died yesterday on Wednesday June 18th after a brief illness. No further details were given. Rest In Peace.

Nigeria remain 44th in June Fifa ranking #ShineOnNigeria

Nigeria remained unmoved at number 44 in the latest Fifa rankings for the month of June released on Thursday.

The Super Eagles failed to improve on their rankings with seven days to the World Cup despite recording two draws in their friendly matches, a 2-2 draw with Scotland and a goalless draw with Greece.

New CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele Meets President Goodluck Jonathan & Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

They held a closed-door meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja for about one hour. But the governor refused to talk to the State House correspondents after the meeting.

Leadership gathered, however, that Emefiele and Jonathan discussed the issues of the economy and the banking sector.

Also on Wednesday, Emefiele paid visit to Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the CBN said on twitter.
