Cool Fm Lagos 96.9 started operations in October 1998, followed by Abuja 96.9 FM in November 2001, Port Harcourt 95.9 FM in November 2008, and then Kano 96.9 FM in October 2011. Since inception, the radio station and its out-stations, have grown immensely and are widely regarded across the nation as Nigeria’s No1 hit music station.
As part of activities to celebrate it’s 16th anniversary, there will be a friendly football match between the station’s on air personalities and their fans at Fun Turf in Lekki Phase 1 on September 26.
Fans of the radio station would also have the opportunity to watch movies with their favourite celebrities at Genesis Deluxe cinemas, Lekki on September 29, while the station will have an open day celebration on October 1 where celebrities would come on radio to celebrate with the station and a grand concert will hold on October 4, at Rhapsody’s lounge Victoria Island, Lagos.
