LAGOS State government, on Thursday, said no fewer than 191 suspected
illegal aliens have been arrested and handed over to the state command
of the Nigerian immigration Service (NIS).
Disclosing this to the newsmen at the end of state security council
meeting, chaired by the state governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, the state
Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Abubakar Manko, said the raid was part
of the efforts to secure the state and make it safe.
The police boss said the illegal aliens were fished out from the
hundreds of suspected criminals so far arrested by security agents in
the ongoing raid across the state, adding that profiling was still
ongoing to identify the others.
“We had so many people arrested and we are still profiling them.
Already, we have been able to identify about 191 illegal aliens that
have been handed over to Immigration Service,” he said.
He urged the people of the state to be vigilant and report any
strange faces or objects in their neighbour-hood to the security
agencies.
